My little Miser

My little Miser, what do you do all day?"I sit on my stool and laugh and cry and play"
Dear little Miser, what if you are sad?
"Then I'll hold my bear and bunny and my bank frog till I'm glad"
Ok little Miser, why do I call you so?
"Because I count my pennies, or should I say my dough"

Jade's new suit

While out buying a bike helmet for Mom, we stumbled across adorable baby bathing suits for summer. Since it's about 55 degrees out and sunny...we felt like it was time to start preparing for summer. So, we bought Jade a new suit. This cute little number came with the optional mesh baby skirt...that's what sold me on it, oh and the polka dots.
Jade had croup the other night, she seems to be doing better today, but you can pray for her that it goes away fast and she can start breathing normally again.

Playing ball

Today was such a nice day! I took Jade outside to play a little tennis. I wish I could get my computer to allow me to play the video clip I took of her. She was laughing so hard watching the ball bounce up and down. Here are two stills. One of her picking the ball up...and one of her showing me her great find:)
This is a clip from last nights eclipse. I wish I had a better camera so I could have actually taken a shot where you could see it. Very cool regardless.

It's the good life

I went in to check on Jade, after she had been crying for awhile. And this is what I found

Sleep tight little angel!

I think Jade and Daddy are singing...at least Jade is.

Alright! Sunshine on Sunday...break out the sunglasses and go for a walk!

Happy V-day

Last Saturday

Last Saturday I took Jade to Jack and Jill's children's hair salon for her first hair cut. Well...bang trim. They put her in a little model airplane chair and wrapped a cape around her. She didn't like the cape much cause it kept her arms covered and she coudn't steer the plane!
Here is her before pic.
here she is with nice short bangs.
Later that day Jade and I headed to a "princess" birthday party. The little girl all in pink was turning two. Jade had a blast!
I think her favorite was the yummy chocolate cup cake at the end.

Potty Training Outfit

Do you love her pink rubber pants?
She sure does! lol!
The past three days Jade has been crawling around the house in a t-shirt and training pants with rubber pants over. Ever 30min I put her on the potty. Does she go? Sometimes. I have "Baby Legs" on order so she can have something to cover her legs while we do this potty training stuff.

A few things that make me happy

Knowing that H&M is headed to Seattle and will open sometime this fall!

Finding an author I find fun and entertaining to read

Knowing it's Friday so making pizza for dinner will be on the menu!

Having the car and getting to go to the gym during the day instead of at night

Shopping with a friend!

Seeing my nails finally growing long again (I keep breaking them)

Enjoying a bible study and actually doing it on my own without being reminded

Going to the tanning salon to remind me that somewhere there is sunshine

Putting on green eye shadow even though I'm about to head to the gym.

Having jade go down for a nap with no fuss and sleeping for longer then thirty minutes.

First Steps and Pottery Barn

Jade has taken a step here and there, but mostly she only walks if she can hold tightly to your fingers. Which she LOVES doing. In fact, if she is awake and I happen to be doing something, aside from playing with her, she comes over, grabs my hands and pulls as hard as her little body can manage. I follow and she drags me along the house giggling gleefully as she "walks" where ever she pleases. Her favorite is going up and down the stairs. Then up and down the stairs again. I go up and down the stairs so often my legs should start looking amazingly fit and toned soon!

At any rate. Today I was sitting on the floor and she was playing over by the couch. Turning she laughs at me and I hold out my arms. She lets go of the couch and then, one, two, three, four...no FIVE steps...and she falls in my arms. "Jade! You are such a big girl!" I squeal. She laughs back as proud of herself as can be. And then we promptly go upstairs so I can note this in her baby book.

It's all so exciting. Granted, she wouldn't take any more steps on her own without my help, but pretty soon...maybe another few weeks or so? Maybe, she'll start walking on her own?

In other news, I figured out I only need a little under $1000 to get everything I currently want from "Pottery barn", to make my home look picture perfect. I must say, for it being Pottery barn, and for me actually pretending to shop as though money were no object, I was very impressed to find I only needed $1000 to get everything I wanted. lol! So if anyone is bored with their $1000, you may give it to me if you like:)

Sometimes when I'm down

It seems to be raining non-stop these days. I don't really mind it, but I would love to see the sun out for a bit longer then a few minutes here and there.

Since Wednesday I've just let the weather get me down. I haven't been motivated to do much of anything but the very basics (work, cook, take care of Jade, etc). Today is is really gloomy, maybe not more then before, but I just feel the heaviness of the weather bearing down on my shoulders and I'm so close to going online and buying a plane ticket to wherever the sunshine is.

However, It's not yet 10am and I am finished with work (started early) Jade is napping...and with all this "Free time" I think I will clean my house, write up my next weeks menu, organize my closet (Jade likes to play in my shoes) and sit down with a cup of tea and read a book.

Something about having a nice clean house when I'm down and depressed, really works wonders for my mood. Makes me feel like it's okay to sit and do nothing cause everything I need to do has been accomplished.

I also have a half finished old movie left to watch...I do want to finish it...and I think today is the perfect day to do so. Man, it's so gloomy out.

Oh, cute note. Yesterday, I went out to run errands with Jade. We left, of course, when the rain was the hardest. No parking spots were close to the door, of course. I was just gonna run inside with Jade, like I always do. But then I remembered that Jade has a baby pink umbrella. It has a big bumble bee on top with a huge flower...and it's pink. I whipped it out and Jade and I went inside with out heads close together to avoid the rain droplets. She LOVED the umbrella, giggled with glee as she looked up into her pink world. We got so many cute smiles from people passing by. I know we looked adorable too...so I proudly smiled back.

Maybe that is what I should do...go out and buy a big pink umbrella and use it on days when I just want to scream I'm so sick of the rain. It was amazing just how much joy that silly umbrella brought to Jade and I.
