Here are some fun random pics of Jade

Here is Jade and JB's "First Father's Day" pic. They are watching some football I think...or something very manly. Jade loves watching manly things with Dad...football is her favorite:)
This is a pick of Jade in her car seat. I took her out of our car to switch her to a friends. I sat her down on the sidewalk for a moment to give JB his keys...I turned around and saw her smiling so I just had to take this pic.
Here is Jade at "Park Day" with ladies from church. I think she is jealous of all the little kids that get to run around a play...so she decided to just fall asleep:)
I'm loving the fact that Jade can sit up in her high chair now. She sits and I can then clean or cook or whatever I need to do.

Don't her little legs look so cute dangling down?

And that's all folks!

Rolling strollers and "Good Directions"

Today Jade and I took a walk up to JB's work to say "hi" and steal the car for the afternoon. I was in a super good mood, the walk was refreshing and the air was so crisp and had such a nice summer feel to it. I rolled the stroller up to the car and thought I put the lock on the stroller so I could put some things in the car before grabbing Jadey. However, I didn't have the lock on and when I turned around Jade had her hands and legs in the air and was roller backwards as fast as she could. I freaked and started running after her...she thought that was SOOO funny. Thankfull there were no cars driving around the parking lot, but boy will I check the brakes better next time. lol

Two of my favorite country songs that are playing on the radio right now are Taylor Swifts "Tear drops on my guitar" and Bill Currington's "Good Directions". I was gonna post a music video of "Good Directions" for anyone who hasn't heard the song yet, but the only YouTube videos made of it are super corney...so you'll just have to check it out yourself if you haven't heard it already.
You'd think I would be big country girl with as much as I love country music...but no way! Just had to clarify that.

Check out "Tear drops on my guitar music vidoe here

It's time to move on

And when I say move on...I really mean...it's time to move! JB and I are buying our very first house (have I mentioned that already?). We move on June 26th (or 27th...the house is ready for us to move in on the 26th) so anyone in town who wants to help out is welcome too! lol! I know helping us move would make your day, it certianly would ours. *big grin*

I don't have pics of the new house yet, but I will by the end of the month and will be posting them as soon as we get settled in. It's only a few miles from where we live now, so it won't be a HUGE move...but still...moving is moving.

So, the next two weeks will be packing and organzing for Jade and I. Jade might not be able to sit up yet, but I have every intention of putting her to work. hee, hee. Most likely she'll sit in her high chair watching me run around like a mad lady...but even if she just offers me many smiles to get me through the next few weeks, that will be a lot of help.

Any moving tips? From those of you who have moved many times?

Visit with Family

My older brother, GJ, and his wife Vicka and baby daughter, Anastasia came to see us this past week. They had to come to Seattle to get special paperwork taken care of for their daughter...who is now a dual citizen (both Russian and American). So while in town, they decided to hang out.

We did all sorts of stuff, we girls did tons of shopping, went out to eat, even got a manicure and watched some fun movies.

GJ and Jade...do they look related?
Aunt Vicka and Jade...pretty n' pink!
Here are the girlies in the car, on our way to Tacoma and then Seattle
Jade likes to stretch and move and cry...perfect little Anastasia likes to cuddle and be held. She is so good:)

Here I am with my new little neice and, of course...my daughter.

The Supreme Court

Today was a very important day. Today JB and I were headed to the Supreme Court for the "Administration of Oath of Attorney" for JB. I was SO excited to attend and even got a little dressed up for the occasion.

On the way inside I saw a bunch of very fat crows near the sidewalk, obviously who had been fed before by tourists. I commented to JB how fat the crows were...not two minutes later then *WOOSH* a HUGE black crow flew right into my head!!! He knocked me forward and flew into a tree. I was so freaked out I almost couldn't move, JB had to calm me down as we continued inside. ECK!! First I had him check my hair for any nasty crow droppings...just in case.
I'm sorry this picture is so terribly dark, unfortunatly all my pictures are really dark...I'll have to mess with them to lighten then up a bit. Here are five the Attorneys repeating their oaths to "HOnorable Gerry Alexander, Chief Justice. James M Johnson, was the man to introduce Jonathan
Here we are with Jim Johnson during the reception that followed the ceremony.

Aside from my attack by the crow the morning events went very well and now JB really is offical as an Attorney.

Getting ready for some company!

I'm so excited because my Brother (GJ) and Sister-in-law (Vicka) and their brand new baby girl (Anastasia) are coming to see me!!! They are the cutest family of four, but unfortunatly little Emma isn't gonna make it out on this trip. You can check out their super cute pics on their Blog. They will be arriving sometime tomorrow and staying through Monday!

I just got back from shopping and now I'm doing some laundry and gonna go meet up with a girlfriend for some mall shopping. Woohoo!
It looks like there is some rain headed our way, hopefully we will have some sunny skies for this weekend.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Wednesday!

My last night ~ From Jade

Last night I was on the floor playing with Dad. He was watching football and explaining to me all the cool plays. I love watching TV with Dad, granted I normally just watch him...but still, it's fun.
While Dad and I were talking Mom came in the living room with her camera. She always has her camera. I turn around and there she is talking to me like a dog saying things like "roll over, roll over Jade" or "smile Jade, smile for the camera". This time it was "crawl Jade, come on you can do it!" I was thinking "come on, Mom. I'm having a nice time with Daddy right now."
But she wouldn't leave, so I gave her my famous chipmunk face. She likes this face the most, so I figured that would do. But oh no...she wanted me to crawl. So, I huffed and I puffed and I...
Almost did it! My head is SO heavy though. I can get my knees and arms, but that head of mine...it's tough. Now I'm so emberressed cause everyone can see how I only almost made it up to crawl.
Mom says I shouldn't be sad, but that I should still keep trying and one day soon I'll be strong enough to hold my head up when I get on my hands and knees. Until then I guess it means second helpings on dinner...I need to build up my strength after all.

Miniture Golf

Our family date night last night took us to the golf course, and not just any golf course...the Miniture golf course.
The old men inside the shop LOVED Jade and even offered for her to use the tinest putter I have ever seen. I said we would wait til she can walk.

Here is JB fishing his ball out of a "sand trap"
Jade was very interested in the game, she kept staring at the ball the whole time.
Jonathan won by two points, next time...we are taking him down!

The perfect...

...pair of shorts. So, are bermudas still "in". I bought a pair hoping to look like this model, I am not quite sure what the perfect top is to go with them yet, but I'm curious on others thoughts on these long shorts. Cool? Not cool?

...pair of peep toe pumps for summer. I love these cause they are close to a sandal but slightly more dressed up then one, while still feeling summery and light.

...dress, I've been looking for different styles or tectures in dresses this summer that I would actually wear and while I can't say it's amazing, there is something very fun about this dress. I love the ruffles and stripes and how casual it comes across...

I'm also in search for the perfect pair of aviator sunglasses. For two summers now I have wished to find a pair I like...and alas aside from the one Chanel has to offer...I have yet to find what I am looking for.

There are so many things I'd love to have for summer. I'd also love to find the perfect summer hat...I don't even know where I would look for a hat, Target maybe?
Curious of what everyone else's summer obsessions are...lata

The Dentist Office ~ A poem from Jade

We went to the dentist,
This morning at 10,
To watch a small baby
just to help out a friend
We sat in the lobby,
and played with some toys
I'm afraid that I made
Some mighty loud noise

I wasn't to happy
(I'm talking of Jade)
And mom had to clean up
The mess that I made
The friend, we were watching
Was as good as could be
She just played with her toys
And stared straight at me
I wonder if Mom
Wished I was that good
But I am so young
I don't behave like I should
Before we all knew it
The visit was done
Our good friend Mrs. R said
"let's have some fun!"
So we headed due south,
or maybe due East
All that I know
Is we drove many streets
We got to the mall
Where food could be bought
And boy did my mommy
Eat quite a lot

We laughed and we giggled
And then we were done
Who'd think that a dentist trip
would be so fun!
bye!

What would life be like without the sun?

I guess it would be more like the moon huh? AhAHA! I don't even want to think about a sun-less life, why did I even ask such a silly question? Maybe it is becuase I got my first summer sunburn yesterday. It is a strange sort of sun burn, I just got my knees and my cheeks...to bad I didn't get all of my legs and arms. Poor Jade got a bit of sunburn too, just at her elbow. I thought I had her covered well, but I guess I didn't. Oh well, we both will be nice and tan in a few days I'm sure:)

Anyway, today looks just as beautiful and sunny as yesterday, if I get a chance I'm headed back to the park with my sun tan lotion, some blankets and lots of water. Jade seems to enjoy the outdoors as much as I do, I can't wait til she can actually move around.

So, things seem to be going pretty well with out house hunting, if all goes well we'll be moved this summer (perhaps next month even!!)

Visiting Aunt Jo ~ From Jade

"Mom said we were going to visit Aunt Jo for a few hours. She packed me up in a car and we drove for a whole hour til we arrived at the airport. I thought it strange to go visit Aunt Jo at an airport, but Mom said it was the only way. You see, Aunt Jo and her friend Hope were on their way to Alaska for a missions trip that will last all summer long.
Here I am with Jo and again with her friend Hope. They seemed to get a kick out of hanging out with me, kept saying how cute and adorable I am. I like it when people say that about me.
It was a nice visit, but it didn't last very long, before I knew it Mom had me back in the car and we were driving home.
Later she decided to take pictures of me in my shorts and t-shirt...do you think I look cute?
I know I smile a lot, and I seem to be pretty goofy at times, but honeslty I'm a very deep baby girl, you'll see this expression on my face often, Mom says it makes me look very thoughtful.
I hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day"

Whats new with us and Jade

Jade has gotten in the habit of twisting her tiny body in all sorts of funny ways. This is her favorite way to twist herself, in an attempt to turn over I guess. Yesterday she was twisting so much it tired her out and she fell asleep. Gotta love the half sock, with her little heel sticking out.
Here is Jade trying to sit up like a big, strong girl. She sat up and turned to me like "See, I can sit up with Daddy holding me"
One second later she was starting to fall over a bit...
And with a mighty effort she tried to right herself up.

In our family news, we have started the wonderful mission of looking to buy our very first home. Right now we live in a charming little apartment/duplex that we do like, but it is just starting to get a little small. We started our house hunting search with a mindset of "we'll just see if we find anything great". To our amazment we have actually found quite a few homes, that aren't that bad that we'd could actually consider.
Tonight we went to relook at one, we returned home not sure what we thought and even wondered if it would be wise of us to stop looking for a few weeks and see what else comes on the market. When we arrived home, however, we had a message from our Landlord, they are putting the duplex up for sell and wanted to give us a heads up. Jonathan looked at me and smiled, he said it looks like the Lord is telling us to keep looking till we find the next best place.
Any prayers for our house hunting adventures would be greatly appreciated.

First cut

Jade cut her self on the nose today, she did it with her tiny sharp fingernails. It is so sad, her poor tiny nose. I think I must cut her fingernails now.

Must get back to work. Just wanted to post this very important post. :)

Everyday

Do you ever find yourself bored with the every day? Waking up, shower, dress, eat, work, eat, work, eat, rest, sleep...start over. *sigh* I can't say that I am depressed, cause I'm not really...but gosh, I feel like I need something to shake up my schedule. I wish I lived in a neighborhood where friends would just stop by out of the blue and things would come up where I'd need to quickly rush to get things together and leave and be off.

I enjoy a little bit of random when I have so much of the same thing. Can anyone relate to me? Sometimes I feel like everyone's lives are going a mile a minute and then I'm left behind trying to catch up with all the excitment, but missing it by a few seconds.

I can't really complain, I work part-time, I have an adorable baby who is doing new and cute and crazy things every day. I mean, like yesterday she was in her crib and I was at my desk. Every few minutes I'd turn around and I'd see this.
She'd pop her head up over the crib, try to see me and then exhusted would fall back down. It was so cute I had to take her picture.
Gosh, I can't wait til she can talk and she and I can have little conversations together. I can tell already that she is a little genius and has SO much to say to me...I just know it.

So back to what I was saying before. I do feel I need to take up some new hobbies, or get out and about more or perhaps I just need to stop focusing on the fact that I do have times in the day where I am bored. Shouldn't I be embracing the fact I can get bored? As I'm sure this phase in my life will pass quickly and I'll probably never get bored again?

I have this huge drive and passion to go hang out at an old folks home. I want to talk with people who have lived a good part of their lives. I want to hear and know what they have been through and what things they loved and what areas they wish they could redo.
Our pastor has been talking a lot about how good it is for women to have mentors in the church. I feel like a dork, but I really want a mentor, or someone who is wiser then me (doesn't have to be older) but someone to discuss spiritual matters with, someone who isn't afriad to step on toes or dig really deep. There is an older women in the church who I think would be that for me, but is it wrong to want that? To use some one in that way? I'm sure I could give to her, perhaps energy or a youthful view point?

I don't know. Lots of crazy thoughts are running through my head today and they all seem so jumbled and confused. I'm sure I shouldn't post this much on my website. Oh well, more silly posts and pics of Jade to come:)

A new dress and slippers for Jade

The cute ballet slippers we got as a present from Rachelle, so sweet!

Not much to say

Yesterday was a nice day. After working JB, Jade and I met up (or attempted to meet up) with friends from work for lunch. We went to the Farmers Market which was absolutely packed! After lunch Jadey and I took a short walk and then got blankets and sat out in the front yard, reading and playing with baby rattles. The sunshine was so nice! Then, after our "big" day outside the two of us came in and had a little nap before JB got home. It felt like such a good lazy day.

Today is probably going to be a simular day, except no lunch at the Market, but so far the sun is out, so i think a walk will be in order and perhaps more reading on the front lawn. Boy, I love summer!

Jade Rolled OVER!

Jade rolled over today for her first time!! I set her down in her crib while doing dishes, when I came back she was on her back kicking like a bug. I couldn't believe it so I grabbed my camera and had her do it again. Enjoy:)

Park day with friends

Jade and I met up with friends at the park today. It was SOOOO nice!!!
Jadey stayed in her stroller playing with toys most of the time. While little Kyri played on her blanket laughing the whole time.

Isn't she so cute!!

Happy Mother's Day

I'd like to first start off saying "Happy Mother's Day" out there to all the Mom's I know. So..."Happy Mother's Day".

The following are some fun pics of Jade. The one below was taken a few days ago. Jade was having a rough day all day long. She didn't want to be put down, only wanted Mommy to hold her and pay her attention and just cried and cried. Finally, I got to tired holding her so I left her on her blanket and went in the other room to finish up some things. I returned to see her fast asleep like this. lol!
Last night I put Jade to bed and thought she had fallen asleep. I didn't hear any noise so I just assumed this was the case. I had to come in her room for something and this is what I found.

She was trying to crawl away I think, lol...but I caught her:)

Grandma Bechtle sent a big box of fun toys and goodies for Jadey. Mostly it was stuffed with all kinds of fun hang puppets. Jade LOVES them!

This weekend was "wooden boat day" downtown. We met up with our good friends to see all the pretty boats. The one behind the guys was accented with lavender colors and flowers. lol!
And here is Kristen and me, as cute as can be:)

Lata!

Dad's Hula Girl

Oh the fun things you can do...when you have nothing to do. Hee, hee. Jadey and I went to "old navy" today. Just to look around and see if there was anything worth while. I found a pair of baby shorts for Jade, with the warm weather coming on I figured she'd need a pair. But my favorite purchase was this little baseball cap. It says "Dad's Hula Girl" on it. Jade could definatly be a hula girl...she wiggles her hips everytime she tries to stand. lol!
I also got her a sun hat yesterday...but we haven't taken pics of it yet...perhaps today at the park we'll get another:)

The Wizard of Oz

Ok, so all morning long I've been trying to remember the words to the songs in "The Wizard of Oz" don't ask me why but they have all been randomly running through my head and I'm going crazy cause I only know little lines from each song. lol!

So I've been singing a song that goes something like this:

"Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
there's a land that i heard of once in a lullaby"
She brings you good news or haven't you heard....
She is a young lady who fell from a far
Ding, dong, the witch is dead
blah, blah blah, the wicked old witch
Ding, dong the wicked witch is dead!!
We represent the Lollipop Guild
The Lollipop Guild, the Lollipop Guild
And in the name of the Lollipop Guild
We wish to welcome you to Munchkin Land
Follow the yellow brick road....
follow the yellow brick road...
I could wile away the hours
conversing with the flowers
consulting with the rain...
Just because I'm presumin'
That I could be kind of human
If I only had a heart
Ha, ha, ha Ho, ho, ho
And a couple of tra - la - las
That's how we laugh the day away
In the Merry Old Land of Oz
There's no place like home....there's no place like home.

And that...that is all I can seem to remember from each song, so i keep starting to sing it...and then I kind of hum or whistle the rest. lol! Ya gotta love it:)

Another day at the park

Jade and I headed to the park again today. Such wonderful, sunny weather couldn't keep the two of us indoors.
The sun was so bright I had to use the stroller to create shade for Jadey's head. I definatly think a baby sun hat is needed.

I think she is going to be an outdoors girl...she loves our trips (so far) to the park...woohoo!

Sunshine

It appears summer is here! At least for one whole week:) We have warm, sunny, wonderful weather!! I LOVE the summer! I love the sun! Hurray!

Jadey and I went to the park yesterday to lay out in the sun and read magazines. It was so lovely. I took a long walk in flip flops for the first time this season...and I am afraid I created some blisters on my feet. waa. Oh well! Its beautiful out and that is all that matters!!

The slow computer

My computer is running so SLOW today. I do not know why. It makes me sad.

The Jade is SO cute! Why do I have such a cute daughter? She hates baths though. That is a bummer, I gave her one this morning and she cried and pouted and looked up at me with sad little baby eyes. I felt like I was torturing my poor child!

We went and saw Spiderman 3 this weekend. The theater was SO packed, it was awesome! The people in the theater also got super into the movie, there is one part where Peter pushes/hits M.J. and she falls to the ground, half the theater went "OH!" and one guy near the front screamed out load, he was so upset. lol! I always find it funny when people clap during or after a movie, I mean, come on...the actors can't hear you, so what is the point? I think, because of the energy in the theater, I liked the movie a whole lot more then I would have if everyone thought the movie was dumb. Anyway, it was a fun little date night for JB and me, hurrary for good babysitters!

Oh! I almost forgot to say...JB passed the WA bar!!! He took it back in Feb, I knew he would...but I still was doing cart wheels when I found out. No more studying for my man! Woohoo!!

I believe that is all for now. Happy Monday!

Forget-me-nots

Last year, at a wedding, we were given tiny packets of "Forget-me-not" seeds as a gift. At the time I was really excited about them, cause I really wanted to do some fun things with my garden...without spending any money. However, I was totally clueless as where or how to plant my tiny seeds.
So, I simply dumped a ton of the tiny seeds in my little planter buckets on our porch. And with that, I promptly forgot about them.
This morning, I was looking out my window and low and behold, I realized the entire flower pot was jammed full of forget-me-nots! I was so shocked and pleasently surprised by this. So, I had to post and show everyone the delicate little flowers that have the most thick and beautiful green petals.

I read somewhere that the "Forget-me-not" is the Alaska state flower. Historcally (I also read) it was believed to be picked by Knights and given to their lovers to wear as a sign of faithfulness and enduring love, assurring the Knights they would not be forgotten. *insert...aw...here*

At any rate, I think its cool I have Forget-me-nots on my front porch and perhaps one day JB (my Knight) will pick one and give it to me before he leaves on a trip some where. And I will proudly where it in my hair...to show him how much I love him. LOL:)
