Cherry Pie

Yesterday was a good day! Nice and cool (er), perfect for doing things outside and inside. It's days like yesterday that make me want to be...ALL THAT I CAN BE!!!

That being said, my task for the day, my hope and dream for one hour...was to make
CHERRY PIE!!!!!!!!

Man! I never knew how much goes into a cherry pie. I always thought you just buy the can of cherries and buy the pre-made pie crust...and viola! You have a cherry pie. No, no, ladies and gentleman, cherry pie is a very indepth, deep, complex pie to create. A little bit of this and a little bit of that, lots of stirring and sweating and yummy sugar and...then after all your toil and labor you have a cherry pie.

Yummmm! There's not much left, so if you want a bite ya gotta come fast!!

Baby, Oh Baby!!

I had my first ultra-sound today! Woohoo! I just love my babies first picture:-) He/she's got a HUGE head! ahahahahaha! Must take after its daddy or something...cause everyone knows I don't have a big head.
The baby was so cute, she/he had the hiccups and its tummy kept bouncing up and down. I know you can't tell from the picture, but my baby does have two arms, two legs, hands, fingers, feet, toes!! He/She is so precious!

The drama of a donut

So last night, my loving husband and I have dinner together. And life is simple and sweet.

But then. In the stillness of the living room. *dun, dun, duuuuuuunnn* My belly starts to rumble, my heart begins to pound and....

"JONATHAN!!! I need a DONUT!!!! I NEED a DONUT NOWWWWW!!!"

Like the speedy husband he is I get wisked away to our local grocery store to find what I need and what I crave.

~Now, for those of you who aren't pregnant and for those of you who don't have your stomachs fighting all the organs in your body for space, plus a baby pushing you into uncomfortable positions, eating more then a small amount can cause great anguish and agony. Cause even though you think you want another helping of dinner, or some terribly fattening dessert. After you eat it, it is a for sure thing you will feel sick right after. ~

Back to the story. So, my husband gets me to the store in record time. We stroll to the donut counter and I, of course, pick the BIGGEST donut I can find. Muwahahahahaa! Bliss, bliss, my life is bliss. I start to gobble the gooey delight before we even make it to our parked car. Talking, and laughing and eating all the way home I think my life couldn't be any better.
But then...I get out of the car. The sudden movement causes me to feel slightly icky and unstable.

"Johnny!!"

He has to help me to the door lest I faint in utter fear of what may occur next. But alas, nothing to dramatic. I make it up the stairs and promptly fall onto our couch. There I must remain motionless for about an hour and a half before my tummy returns to normal.

*sigh* it was such a great donut while I was eating it, but *ECK!* why? Why? do I do that to my poor, helpless body??!?!!?!?!?!!?

hee, hee.

So I'm afraid my sad tale ends not in simple, sweet, stillness, but in agony and groanings of the body. Warning to all fellow pregnant mommies out there, if you want it...DON'T HAVE IT!!

Mt. Rainer

This weekend our friends invited J and I to go with them to Mt. Rainer.

We saw cool things while hiking. I liked all the pretty wildflowers on the hiking trails.

This one reminds me of a very thin blue bonnet.

And this one reminds me of a daffodil(sp?) without it's nose:-)

The other cool sight (aside from the Mountain its self) was a random deer in the woods.

he was kinda hard to catch. But once he stood still...I think he liked posing for this picture.

Then, of course, there are the lovely pics of J and I with the Mt. in the background (we didn't quite make it to the top...this time;)

I guess part of the Mt. got cut off on this pic...oh well:-)

Here we are at a...waterfall:)

And here we are at a lake called...hmmm...I can't remember what it was called. But it was near the bottom of the Moutain anyway:-)

This pic is of a "Box Canyon", the glowing Angel on the side is really just my husband;) ahahahaha!

It was a fun trip, I was so tired after it though...I slept the whole way home:-)

My Hollyhock

I have a very sad and pathetic flower garden. It is a sad, truthful fact. And while I know and readily admit this...there is a part of me that hopes that some day, some how, my sad little garden will turn into something wonderful and beautiful some day. The trouble is, gardening requires time, money and...plants.

My biggest trouble has been when I enter a flower store I am completely overwhelmed by all the choices of flowers. I have no idea what to get! There are to many!! I know you are suppose to plan out the layout and design of your garden before you start randomly purchasing items. However, that takes up so much time and energy, I'd rather just go to the store, become overwhelmed and come home with an odd assortment of plants...that I will most likely kill in three days.
All this being said, one of my random purchases during one of these overwhelming trips, was a very small hollyhock plant. When I bought it, I got it cause it reminded me of my sister (her favorite, I think). I wanted a hollyhock, but I didn't want a whole bunch (cause they are mucho money) and I figured...I'd probably kill it like my other plants. Well, surprise, surprise, this little puppy (randomly placed in my garden) seems to love life despite my lack of attention to it. It is now nearly as tall as Jonathan and today...it flowered!!!! I was so excited, I had to take a picture!

My gardening skills my be slim to none...but I grew a hollyhock plant and it looks lovely!!

Weekend Pictures

This weekend J took me to see IKEA. I have heard so much about IKEA, that I figured it was about time I actually went and saw the store. It's HUGE!
After IKEA we went to Trader Joes, another place I hear so much about, but never have gone to. Cute, yummy things to buy. Smaller then I expected:)

On the way home from IKEA and Trader Joes, I tired to take a picture, from my car, of Mt. Rainer:)

Later in the day we went to a park and had a picnic. After the picnic, J and I took a lovely walk in the woods.

And because I feel like a watermelon...I decided I'd dress as one as well:)

Hahaha!

We also went and saw the movie of the week "Pirates" and I spent a great deal of my time feeding my body to help keep my new young one alive. I think I am doing a good job;)

So many Friends!

Ok, I had NO idea J and I had so many friends, who actually read our blog! lol! I don't think I have ever gotten so many comments on a post before. *blush* I really don't know what to say:)

My friend sent me a "joke" this morning. It goes like this:
"Pappa mole, mamma mole and baby mole lived as a happy mole family in a
wee mole hole. One bright fine day, pappa mole stuck his head out of the
wee mole hole and said "yummy! I smell maple syrup!" Next mamma mole
stuck her head out of the wee mole hole and said "yummy! I smell honey!"
Baby mole tried to stick his snout out the wee mole hole for a wiff of
the air but the bigger moles blocked his way. "Geez, all I can smell
is...molasses!"

Today is SUCH a beauitful day! I really don't know what to do with myself:) When it is sunny out I really do feel as though I can take over the world. So...off I go! *que superman type music*

Missi: Camera? What camera?

I always have great intentions to bring my camera to various events. The few times I actually remember to bring the camera, I always have great intentions to actually take pictures. *sigh* alas, picture taking is not a strong area for me. I guess that is why on my other blog (www.xanga.com/BechtleBabe) I like to draw paint pictures instead. Granted, I also like the paint pictures cause the stick figures are so much skinner then the real life me...but we won't go there.

At any rate, yesterday was the Fourth of July and I am a-feared the only picture I got was of J, half druged on allergy meds...laying in the cold grass.

lol! In other news...I'm three months along (as of yesterday), can you tell? HahahahaA!

And happily sick all the time and doing very well:-)

Hope everyone had a lovely Fourth of July!
